What Selling Your Company Really Takes - Janneke on BNR’s podcast “De deal van je leven”

Our GP Janneke was recently a guest on BNR’s podcast “De deal van je leven”, joining host John van Schagen to share lessons from the sale of her company 12 years ago and what the process really looks like behind the headlines.

In the episode, Janneke highlights two key takeaways. First, an acquisition can quickly become a full-time job on top of running the business: negotiations consume time and energy, while the company still needs leadership and focus to hit targets. The reality is that performance can suffer simply because attention is split.

Second, she reflects on the “woehoe-factor”: while selling your company may feel like the ultimate dream, the euphoria is often short-lived. What truly gets you out of bed, she shares, is the challenge, your colleagues, and building new ideas. Not just the number in your bank account.

Janneke also emphasizes the value of having the right support throughout the process.

Many thanks to John van Schagen, David Sluis, and the BNR Nieuwsradio team for having Janneke on the show!
